Roof cleaning solves major moss / gutter problem, whilst restoring the tiles!
We had a regular window cleaning customer of ours in Yeovil who was constantly having issues with moss falling from their roof into the guttering.
The severe amounts of moss would be blocking up the guttering, causing leaks over the guttering externally and internally. It would also attract birds who would sit and peck at the moss and put more of it into the gutters and onto the floor! We saw to this property 3-4 times a year just for regular gutter clearing, which is not cost effective in the long-term, as there was no end in sight! The customers would regularly have moss all over the floor, which they’d be constantly clearing up and on the conservatory roof.
We viewed the property and suggested that the removal of such moss from the roof and applying a professional grade softwash solution would alleviate the need for the guttering to be emptied so frequently. Not only would the guttering stay clear, and flow naturally as intended, but it would save lots of money over time! The treatment will also kill the root system of any moss and white / orange lichen’s present and over time the tiles would return to their former colour and resume original appearance! The great thing about this job also is that the access to the front and rear of the property was great with a well-pitched roof, meaning we could do the entire job safely from the floor!
This after picture was taken just 3 months after the de-moss and softwash treatment were applied! Look at the brilliant results. Not only had all the moss disappeared, but 99% of the large lichen areas too! The best part is, this roof isn’t even finished, it will continue to remove any lasting algae and continue to keep up its appearance for some time.
